    Presented in partnership with Multilingual Chicago
    Children learn Spanish vocabulary during an experiential, interactive class through songs, movement and laughter! Children will read a thematic book together and then do fun hands-on crafts and sing songs relating to the day’s theme.
    Cost: 7-week series: $100/member caregiver and child/series; $140/non-member caregiver and
    child/series; $20/single class unless otherwise noted.

    Year of the Snake Celebration

    Children & Family | Recurring Event: February 7, 8 and 9

    Description

    In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Nature Museum is hosting a special venomous snake exhibit! Snakes in attendance are the Timber Rattlesnake, Cottonmouth, Southern Copperhead, Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, Eyelash Vipers, Gaboon Viper and a Chinese Banded King Cobra. Our Year of the Snake partner, the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago will also give a brief presentation on the significance of the snake in Chinese culture. In addition to the exhibit, we will have:

    • A daily snake critter connection at 11 a.m.
    • “Rattlesnake crafts” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 7 and Feb. 9 at 11 a.m.
    • At 11 a.m. Feb. 9, there will be a special Lion Dance by Master P.C. Leung.

    Venomous snakes provided by Rob Carmichael from the Lake Forest Wildlife Discovery Center.
