In the Footsteps of Dr. Livingstone
Using the In the Footsteps of Dr. Livingstone Video
Teachers should introduce the program to their students by showing the In
the Footsteps of Dr. Livingstone video in its entirety, with a primarily
affective focus. If the one-hour video is too long to show in a single
class session, break it up into approximately 20-minute sections. Whenever
possible, the unit introductions make a reference to the tape. Take the
opportunity each time to continue discussion with the students about their
reactions to the events along the journey into the heart of Africa. Repeated
viewings of the video, or specific parts of the video, are recommended.
