- conservation
- careful usage and protection of our natural resources to be sure of their availability in the future.
- deforestation
- to strip or deprive of trees and forest; the loss of our forest.
- ecosystem
- a system involving all interactions of living and non-living components of a given area.
- endangered
- threatened with extinction.
- environmental impact
- any significant effect of development upon the environment.
- flyway
- a certain path that birds travel when migrating between nesting and wintering grounds.
- fragmentation
- the disintegration, collapse, or breakdown of the norms.
- habitat
- the native environment of an animal or plant.
- interdependence
- a relationship in which organisms meet each others needs.
- migration
- movement of birds between their nesting and wintering grounds.
- Neo-tropical
- birds which are neither North or South American, but spend time on both continents.
- ornithologist
- one who studies the life of birds.
- parasitism
- a parasite mode of life or existence where one lives off another in order to survive.
- phenologist
- the science dealing with the influence of climate on the recurrence of such annualphenomena of bird and plant life as bird migration and plant budding.
- range
- the region over which something is disputed; the area in which certain birds live.
- species
- a class of individuals having common characteristics and qualities.
