Air pressure: The weight of air molecules pushing against the Earth and each other.

Anemometer: An instrument that is used to measure wind speed and force.

Barometer: An instrument used for measuring air pressure.

Celsius: Scale of measuring temperature in which water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees.

Condensation: The change from water vapour to liquid water. Droplets form after air has risen, cooled and condensed to create clouds.

Evaporation: The process where a liquid becomes a vapour or gas after being warmed.

Fahrenheit: Scale of measuring temperature on which water freezes at 32 degrees and boils at 212 degrees.

Moisture: Water in a vapor (gaseous) form.

Rain gauge: An instrument designed to measure the amount of rain that falls during a given time interval.

Temperature: Measured on the Celsius, (sometimes referred to as centigrade) or Fahrenheit scale. In weather reports refers to a reading taken in the shade, four feet above the ground.

Thermometer: An instrument used to measure temperature.

Water Vapor: see moisture.

Wind: The movement of air. Speeds are measured in knots or miles per hour and are often categorized into a wind force using the Beaufort Scale.
