With the toothpick, it is easy to control the amount of pressure you give to the mystery "rock" during your dissection. You can open up all the layers of the "rock" slowly, without hurting whatever is inside.

You are also able to reach into small crevices or holes to "pick" out the fur that is stuck in them.
